09 May Why are you drawing/painting upside down?
The main reason why Rajacenna is drawing and painting upside down is more logical than you would think. After she switched to the upside down creating she also came to know there were more advantages to this type of making art.
When she started in 2009 filming her art; she mostly filmed from above or from behind. Later on in 2019 she turned her idea on that. During the live-streaming of her Halloween drawing ‘Corpse Bride‘; she thought it was more convenient for the viewer to watch the creating process better.
Then she came up with the idea to draw upside down so the viewer could see the drawings exactly as they were and they can properly see what she is working on.
During this new way of creating art she came to another conclusion: “… I love to draw upside down to make it more difficult for myself and learn from it in a different and effective way. I see it more like a drawing exercise and it’s also very helpful to look at your own drawings from different perspectives. You can focus more on the shapes you actually see and not what you think you see.“
